    6-Day Best of Uganda Safari

    This 6-day Uganda safari takes you through some of the country's most remarkable wildlife destinations, including Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than 400 mountain gorillas and one of the world's premier locations for gorilla trekking. The journey also includes Queen Elizabeth National Park, named in honor of the visit of Queen Elizabeth II in 1954.

    Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, supporting a wide range of mammals, primates, reptiles, and over 600 bird species. Bird enthusiasts can spot species such as the martial eagle, African skimmer, Chapin's flycatcher, pink-backed pelican, white-winged warbler, papyrus canary, and papyrus gonolek. The park is also famous for its unique tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector.

    The safari concludes with a visit to Lake Mburo National Park, where visitors can enjoy exciting game drives and relaxing boat cruises on the scenic lake. Although it is one of Uganda's smallest national parks, it boasts an impressive concentration of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, giraffes, topis, antelopes, and a variety of bird species, making it a rewarding destination for nature lovers.

    Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

    Rise up to an early morning breakfast and your safari guide will pick you up to start your safari to Lake Mburo National Park western part of Uganda. Along the way, there are stopovers at the equator monument for photography and experimentation not forgetting buying your yourself souvenirs. You will arrive at the park early afternoon and have lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you will go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo which will reward you with game as crocodiles, hippos, lots of bird species. Later, you will have game drive to see different wildlife species such as kobs, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, water hogs and impalas among others. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight.

    Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    After an early breakfast, you will embark on a guided nature walk within the park, offering an opportunity to observe wildlife and animals gathering at natural salt licks. Following the walk, you will enjoy a game drive as you exit the park and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

    During the drive, you will experience the breathtaking volcanic landscapes and rolling hills of the Kigezi Highlands, renowned for their lush vegetation and scenic beauty. A lunch stop will be provided en route before continuing to Bwindi, one of Africa's most important conservation areas and home to over 400 mountain gorillas.

    Upon arrival in the early evening, guests may choose to participate in an optional cultural walk to experience the local community and traditions or relax at the lodge in preparation for the highly anticipated gorilla trekking adventure scheduled for the following day.

    Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Rise early and enjoy breakfast before proceeding to the park headquarters for registration and a comprehensive briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines and safety procedures. During the briefing, you will be assigned to a specific gorilla family group for your trekking experience.

    Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will then venture into the dense rainforest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from one to six hours, depending on the location and movement of the gorilla family. As you journey through the forest, you will have the opportunity to experience the rich biodiversity and stunning natural beauty of Bwindi.

    Once the gorillas are located, you will spend a memorable hour observing these remarkable primates in their natural habitat, watching their interactions and daily activities at close range.

    After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation and refreshments. In the evening, you may choose to unwind at the lodge or visit the Batwa Community to experience traditional music, dance, and cultural performances, offering insight into the heritage of the region's indigenous people.

    Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    After an early breakfast, depart from Bwindi and begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda's most renowned wildlife destinations. En route, you will pass through the Ishasha Sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions often seen resting on large fig trees. During the drive, keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including elephants, bushbucks, duikers, and other species that inhabit this remarkable ecosystem.

    Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoy lunch before setting out on an exciting afternoon game drive. The park is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife, offering excellent opportunities to spot elephants, Uganda kobs, antelopes, warthogs, waterbucks, and numerous bird species in their natural habitat.

    As the day progresses, continue toward the northern section of the park. Depending on arrival time, an additional game drive may be conducted in the renowned Kasenyi Plains, an area celebrated for its rich wildlife populations and excellent game-viewing opportunities.

    Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

    Begin your day with an early breakfast before departing for the Kyambura Gorge (or Kalinzu Forest, depending on permit availability) for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by experienced guides, venture into the forest in search of these fascinating primates, often referred to as humanity's closest living relatives. Observe their behavior, social interactions, and daily activities within their natural habitat while enjoying the rich biodiversity of the forest ecosystem.

    After spending time with the chimpanzees, return to the lodge for a relaxing lunch before preparing for an afternoon boat safari on the famous Kazinga Channel.

    The boat cruise offers one of the most rewarding wildlife-viewing experiences in Uganda, as you navigate the natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Along the channel, you may encounter large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and numerous antelope species gathering along the shoreline. The area is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with opportunities to spot species such as saddle-billed storks, pink-backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, and many other water birds.

    Following the cruise, return to your lodge in the evening to relax, enjoy dinner, and reflect on the day's remarkable wildlife encounters.

    Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala

    Enjoy an early morning cup of coffee before departing for a sunrise game drive through the renowned Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is one of the best times of the day to observe wildlife as many animals are most active during the cool morning hours.

    During the game drive, you will have excellent opportunities to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, antelopes, lions, and, with some luck, the elusive leopard. The open savannah landscapes provide spectacular views and outstanding photographic opportunities as you enjoy your final safari experience in Uganda.

    After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast before beginning your journey back to Kampala. Upon arrival in the evening, continue to Entebbe International Airport for check-in and departure, marking the end of your memorable wildlife and primate safari adventure.
